My Story

My name is Zario, but most of my friends call me Collie. I am a United States Marine based out of Camp Pendleton, CA, serving in the billet of Combat Engineer Chief. In short, I am a program manager with a decent understanding of explosive theory and its employment to increase advantageous gaps in the enemy’s defense. I’ve spent a little over 20 years in service to our country, four of which were spent overseas providing aid to the U. S. Diplomatic Communities as a Marine Security Guard. As much as I would love to return to the diplomatic community, I’m looking for job opportunities that are more California-based. I retire from the Marine Corps in a few months, and honestly, I can’t wait. I have three young kids, with the oldest being 10, 7, and 3 years old, respectively.

I have completed a Master’s in Business Administration at American Military University and a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management with a concentration in Project Management with DeVry University. My favorite pastimes include playing video games (Mostly NFL Madden), Remote Control (RC) Drifting, Aquascaping (creating an underwater ecosystem to include live plants), and spending time with my family.

My Favorite Past Time

RC Drifting

RC Drifting is a specialized discipline focused on controlling high-speed slides through corners rather than pure speed. Using specialized 1/10 scale cars with hard, low-traction tires, drivers intentionally oversteer, using precise throttle and steering to manage, or “drift,” the car around corners (Horizon Hobby).

Aquascaping

Aquascaping is the art of arranging aquatic plants, rocks, driftwood, and substrate in a visually pleasing manner within an aquarium, effectively creating an “underwater garden” or living landscape. It merges creative design with natural science to create sustainable, artistic ecosystems that often mimic terrestrial landscapes (Bruse Plant).

NFL Madden

Madden is an American football simulation video game series that is played on several platforms (Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, and PC) and developed by EA Sports. The video game is named after Pro Football Hall of Fame coach John Madden and features all 32 official licensed NFL teams. Users have the option of experiencing the game for the manager, player, or coach levels as they immerse themselves in the gameplay.
